Letter from Grand Dad

Do you know what happened to Grand Dad yesterday?

He had to climb to the top of his mast to fix a light that lets ships see where he is in the dark. At the top of the mast is was so high he thought he could see almost all the way to Australia and New Zealand.

Grand dad got a terrible shock when he looked inside the mast. He found three little chicks living there with two little birds eggs in a nest. He did not know what to do. There was no sign of the chicks mother.

So now he is sailing with a new family onboard his boat. Every morning he wakes up to hear them calling cheep cheep cheep.

Soon they will be bigger and fly away back to their mother. Grand dad will miss them so much.
